Wednesday Holy Week

As we all know that we are in holy week, the most important and significant week of the year for all Christians all around the world. As we prepare ourselves for Christ’s victorious and resurrection day, we must also remember Christ’s journey to the cross.

Today is Wednesday and according to today’s reading we are going to focus in the Gospel of St John Chapter 13 verse 21-32.

When I was reading about Jesus’ betrayal and in verse 21 it says “ After saying this Jesus was troubled in spirit, and declared, “Very truly, I tell you, one of you will betray me.”
Jesus gave him food and in verse  23 says that the one whom Jesus loved ………..

Jesus was fully human and was troubled to know that the one whom he loved will betray him. Still he did not ignore him or insult him or tell shout at him loudly but instead what Jesus did was he loved him and gave him food.
In this holy week we will reflect on our own attitude what we do if we know that someone whom we loved so much is not that good with us 0r he is going to make trouble for us in our life.

Looking at Jesus’ reaction towards Judas son of Simon Iscariot’s, behaviour,
we need to love each other as no matter how they behave with you we need to obey Christ’ commandment and follow his footsteps. He told us to love each other as I have loved you. May God give us wisdom and courage to learn and obey Christ not in this holy week but until our last breath. Amen.
